Formerly known as 'Bau Down & FAM', 1up is Chicago's self made best new age hip-hop/pop group that was formed
over the course of a mere 5 years. It currently consists of 5 members - Bau Down, FAM, Nick Mo, Gilles & Nick Bruns.
Known amongst Chicagoland as the duo that re-created the Chicago Cubs team anthem, "Take Me Out", sampling the
beloved announcer Harry Caray, Bau Down & FAM have achieved many great things together.
They have had massive
internet and radio airplay. They have also approached by many independent labels, several major record labels and talent agencies
in pursuit of business relations. However, terms were never met on both sides, and to this day they remain independent musicians
with big plans.
Though they have achieved extreme success as as solo artists, and over the past few years as a duo
- Bau Down & FAM looked to surround themselves with other like minded and motivated musicians.
1up was formed
in 2008 when Nick Bruns came aboard to play the drums for several performances. The chemistry was there right away. Several
months later, Nick Mo & Gilles joined forces with the group. Then as they say, the rest is truly history.
Since
it's formation, the multi-talented group has virtually lived in the studio, performing only at select shows until there collaboration
album is complete.
Expect big things from 1up in the near future. They are very confident in who they are, and look
to make setting musical trends more than a hobby, and ultimately a life-long career.
